Hi everyone, happy Sunday! As a self-confessed coffeeholic, I love discovering new places to get my caffeine fix. Over the years I have definitely picked up some firm favourites, along with some favourite speciality drinks!
Some of the places on this list are chains and some are local to me, so hopefully everyone will be able to enjoy this post! Also, don't forget to let me know what your favourite places to grab a coffee are.
Starbucks
Knew I couldn't write a list of my coffee shops without mentioning my old faithful, Starbucks. There's a drive-thru fairly close to where I live, which can be a little dangerous… every time I drive past my car just happens to end up in the drive-thru! My favourite coffee to order here is a caramel macchiato, if you're a fan of anything sweet then this coffee is for you! The caramel sauce is delicious, I also like to buy their coffee to use in my cafetière at home as I just really enjoy the blend. Being a chain, I often visit Starbucks when travelling as I always know I'll get a quality coffee.
The Pie Shed
Now for a local coffee shop! Well actually this is a cafe, but their coffees are seriously on point! Located in Dewsbury, this cafe not only has great food but has a huge list of speciality coffees. I only recently discovered this place so I haven't had the chance to try many of the different coffees yet but their pumpkin spice latte was seriously on point and I can't wait to try more! Everything seems to be very affordable here too which is always a bonus… if you're in the area, then definitely drop in as it's so worth a visit.

Coffeeboy
Based in Huddersfield, this urban coffee shop is a firm favourite of mine. Whilst studying at university in Huddersfield, I often found myself nipping in for a coffee there or going through the drive-thru. I always order their self-titled speciality drink, the coffeeboy, I'm not even sure what they put in there but it's absolutely delicious. The actual blend of coffee is really tasty and also the interior in there is really pretty, a great insta photo op if you're into that kinda thing!
Northern Tea House
This cafe can be found in the centre of Huddersfield, I know it's technically a tea house and they do have a fabulous selection of loose teas for all the tea lovers out there, but I also love the coffee they serve. Like coffeeboy, they have a really nice interior (totally instagram worthy) and the staff there are really friendly! The blend of coffee from here I find to be really nice but I also just really enjoy visiting as it's got a great feel about the place and is really handy to get to when in the centre of town. If you're from Huddersfield or the surrounding areas then I definitely recommend you give this place a try! (Their homemade cakes are TDF too…)

I live in Huddersfield and my boyfriend lives like 2 minutes away from Coffee Boy so I’ll have to give it a try sometime! My fav coffee shop in Hudds is Cofeevolution (cafevs for short), bc I love the atmosphere and aesthetic and it’s reasonably cheap. Plus me and my friends used to always hang out there after college so it’s just super comfortable for me (plus it makes amazing hot chocolates). When I’m at uni in Edinburgh I tend to just go to Starbucks but I wanna find some more little independent coffee shops as well!

It’s pretty much just a fancy coffee maker. You can pick different flavors of coffee and have instant coffee instead of having to put a filter in a coffee pot, fill it up with coffee grounds, put water in it then let it heat up. It’s a little hard to explain haha

Ah I used to work at The Northern Tea House! All of the staff were lovely to work with! I actually follow you on instagram so decided to look at your blog as you mentioned you were thinking about making one when I had recently decided to finally make one too! I’ve been wanting to for years, anyway, it’s good to see you did it! Good write up about the tea house (not bias at all)

No, no, no!
If you have to go chain, go costa!
Anyway, Huddersfield…… what do you think of chooseys? Proper beans, fresh coffee.
My caffeine monster has had me acquire my own grinder. Freshly ground beans every weekend, my forever treat!

To be honest I do like Costa too but they don’t have my beloved caramel macchiato 🙈 I have not tried choosys! I’m now not living in Huddersfield anymore as i have finished university. Ahh I’m jealous!!
